It's such a pleasure to host once again from San Francisco, Cultural Odyssey. The two artists who make up most, but not all of this show, are prime examples of our countries major artists. Rhodessa Jones and Idris Ackamore. These folks are huge. Their impact on their communities, and in Atlanta, is really impressive and offers proof that artists are truly essential in our culture. Rhodessa's work for many years with women in prisons has resulted not only in workshops that have benefited incarcerated persons, but also a major theatre production, her version of MEDEA, which is well known around the world. Idris is perhaps the world's only tap dancing sax player. I say that lightly, of course, but it's also quite an accomplishment. Wait until you see these two on our stage together.
This performance they bring to Atlanta, THE LOVE PROJECT, involves them both, as writers, and in collaboration with two of Atlanta's own writers and cultural treasures, Pearl Cleage and Zaron Burnett. The show has been traveling around the country, and is now in New York, where it is getting fantastic reviews just in advance of their two-week visit to us in Atlanta.
I'm happy to place my feelings about this show on our blog. Because these are, as we know, such tough times, and 7 Stages is struggling, as we all are, to be true to our mission. So, when we can bring in something that raises the sprits, something our friends from Frisco has created with our friends from Atlanta, and that offers hope and a reasonable future, well, it's a pleasure.
I hope you'll join us at 7 Stages, and bring your friends.
As this blog continues, I hope we will be adding more specific information about the shows. Naturally, it would maybe spoil the show to say too much. But maybe some of the other bloggers will add some things, some impressions, some information about the shows.

The Main Ingredient is Love! Love is the message..we all want it, desire it, gotta have it. A delightful menu of dance, poetry, music, singing..delivered brilliantly by Rhodessa Jones & Idris Ackamoor. Our senses are stimulated, tantalized...you might get the opportunity to sing your favorite love song. Enjoyed every minute, moment, hour!

Tt's so wonderful to have The Love Project at 7Stages. Zaron and I really enjoyed collaborating with our friends Idris and Rhodessa. All of us are as serious about love as we are about peace and joy and freedom and being artists, which is plenty serious enough for monday evening. Thanks, Del, for bringing The Love Project to 7Stages!Vaya con dios!

I just re-read what I wrote, and apologize for the weird wording and grammar. We're in Berlin at the moment woriing on a show, and maybe the strange English I am around ovr here causes me to be strange with syntax. Anyway, I hope readers stil get the sense of what I said. Thanks.
