Sam McPherson
Sam was born into a musical family in Mobile Alabama and by age 15 was playing country and rockabilly music in honkey tonks along the gulf coast. Rock bands soon followed and upon entering college, a love for classical music and jazz developed. Since his move to Atlanta in the 70's he has taught, performed, worked for several music publishing companies and done session work. Six years ago he started The Sam McPherson Trio performing what he lovingly refers to as "red neck jazz". As a founding member of The Little 5 Points Rockstar Orchestra he's been able to move into the under used area of rock and roll theater. Sam also performs as "Brother Sam" - band leader with Atlanta's Big City Burlesque. He also started and runs a web site to keep the memory of his mentor and hero, Thumbs Carllile, alive. Please visit sammcpherson.net and thumbscarllile.net
