7 Stages presents New Orleans’ based ArtSpot Productions ensemble as they lead a consideration of the profound transformations that have swept through New Orleans in the decade since Hurricane Katrina, and of our own roles and responsibilities as artists in the realities of gentrification and displacement. A dream-world imaging of a community inundated by a flood of change and upheaval.

    A workshop for Atlanta’s visual artists to work with New Orleans based ArtSpot Productions artistic and creative team and put their own touches on the set of Sea of Common Catastrophe.
  • Creating Space: Innovative Approaches for Designing Performance Environments
    Saturday, Feb. 4 at 1 PM – 3 PM
    This workshop will combine design, movement, and sound to create and respond to site specific performance environments, exploring space as a character to perform with rather than in. The workshop is ideal for directors, choreographers, performers, and designers to learn inventive ways design can play a crucial role in crafting performances from start to finish.
  • Art of Activism Brunch (Free)
    Sunday, February 5 at 1 PM
    Join us for the Art of Activism Brunch for Sea of Common Catastrophe. A catered brunch from Babs Midtown will be provided during the conversation with artists from Atlanta and New Orleans and local experts on Atlanta’s own issues with gentrification past and present.
