Along with our productions, 7 Stages has a variety of educational and community oriented programs that support our vision of being a global center for the creation of vital conversations through collaborative performance.

Youth Creates

Youth Creates is 7 Stages’ training program providing experiential learning and performance opportunities for teenagers. Through playwriting, design, and performance, students collaborate to create an original production.

In-school Residencies

Residencies are co-teaching experiences in which professional artists and teachers work together to bring artistic value into education. By working alongside the existing curriculum, this collaboration method provides a unique, in-depth way into the subject matter.

7 Stages is one of 62 organizations nationwide selected to receive a 2023-2024 NEA Big Read grant. An initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest, the NEA Big Read broadens our understanding of our world, our communities, and ourselves through the power of a shared reading experience.

Volunteers

Volunteer a skill, be an usher, or become a Community Ambassador! 7 Stages relies on assistance from volunteers in a variety of fields to make this vital work happen. Click here to learn more and fill out the appropriate forms.

Internships and Apprenticeships

7 Stages offers administrative and production internships throughout the year, while apprenticeships are offered based on our needs and availability. Fields include Community Relations, Event Planning, Sales, Marketing, Design, Fundraising/Development, Education, and Production roles.

Service Saturdays

Service Saturdays aim to help our community thrive by providing vital resources like food, clothing, and personal protection equipment, while bringing together local community-driven organizations under one roof.

Art of Activism

Art of Activism brings together community experts, artists and patrons for powerful conversations. Throughout the year, community members gather to discuss the social justice, othering, and the prevalence of intolerance.

7 Stages houses two performance venues, a 180 seat Mainstage and a 90 seat Black Box. Both venues consist of stadium style seating with the stage as the floor of the room, and are available for year round rentals of all types.

7 Stages’ Home Brew Series provides a platform and resources for works in development that exhibit promise, stimulation, and provocation. Performances and readings often hit the stage for the first time, providing the benefit of public interaction to fine-tune these works.

HOME BREW Series

7 STAGES COLLABORATES WITHLOCAL, NATIONAL, AND INTERNATIONAL ARTISTS TO INITIATE AND DEVELOP PERFORMANCE. ALL EVENTS ARE COMPLIMENTARY!

Introducing Home Brew @ Home!

Our virtual productions offer advice from the light through vital conversations and artistic collaboration.  All programming is the product of our new work in development series, Home Brew – offers virtual productions in the very early stages of creation as a first look or re-work, with one celebrating the world première as an original film!

Each project will offer a virtual première at 7pm on Thursday with a post-show talk back with artists, a chance to offer a virtual cheers on Friday at 5pm with Happy Hour with Heidi, engage with our community on Service Saturdays, and join in the discussion during our virtual Art of Activism brunch on Sunday from 11am – 1pm.
