Arts Fusion with 7 Stages.

Empowering Students to Step into the Spotlight

7 Stages’ ARTS FUSION is an in-school residency program designed to tell stories through the artistic process of devising original work. Our primary framework uses family stories to help students “shine light on the shadows,” transforming personal heritage, culture and perspective into compelling live performances.

By connecting everyday life to creative processes, participants learn essential life skills such as creative problem solving, team building, public speaking, empathy, and confidence in self expression.

Collaborative Experiences

A residency is more than a guest visit; it is a co-teaching partnership. Professional theatre artists work alongside classroom teachers to weave artistic value directly into the existing curriculum. Together, we guide students through a journey of:

  • Creative Playwriting & Story Building
  • Improvisation & Performance Techniques
  • Design & Technical Application

This immersive approach provides a unique, in-depth way to master classroom subjects while fostering a culture of collaboration and exploration.

Our Residency Models

We offer three distinct pathways, available for all grade levels. Whether you need an hourly workshop or a semester-long project, we tailor our presence to your schedule.

1. Literacy Arts Residency

Transform literature into a living experience. Teachers select a specific text or author, and our artists guide students to creatively respond to the material. This culminates in a final presentation that serves as an “active book report” showcasing a deep, personal impact that traditional essays can’t capture.

2. Curriculum-Based Residencies

Learn core content through creative expression. We partner with teachers to teach core curriculum—such as history, science, or social studies—using theatre as the primary tool for exploration. Students present what they have learned through writing, literacy, and performance, making abstract concepts tangible.

Curriculum Alignment Our residencies are designed to meet Georgia Standards of Excellence (GSE) across multiple disciplines:

  • Theatre Arts: TAHSA.CR.2 (Scripting from heritage/history) & TAHSFT.CN.1 (Connecting theatre to life and other content).
  • English Language Arts: Supports standards for character analysis, narrative structure, and the 2025 Dramatic Writing ELA requirements.
  • Social Studies: Connects family historical research to broader societal themes.

3. Project-Based Residencies

From the blank page to the stage. Modelled after our 5-week “Youth Creates” summer program, this is our most intensive option. Over a quarter or semester, theatre artists collaborate with the school to produce a full-scale original production. Students handle everything from playwriting and design to the final performance.

Customization & Flexibility

7 Stages artists work directly with your staff to ensure a cohesive team environment. If your class is currently studying a specific text, we can tailor the residency to focus on that text’s study and the development of a production or presentation.
