F.PUNK JUNKIES
September 4-14, 2025 at 7 Stages
F.PUNK JUNKIES is a Woman-centered, Black and Brown Ensemble-driven dance theatre piece written and directed by Teo Castellanos. This work brings the company’s “AfroRican Punk” aesthetic to their storytelling, and digs deeply into our collective ancestral roots.
Six deities gather to share tales woven with energetic punk music and expressive movement: Stories of a guitar player at a crossroad, a greedy deceiver, a theatrical baseball ritual, a secret society of beautiful femmes, an encounter on a plastic beach, a prison break, and reunification in the mosh pit. They are adapted from Orisha Mythology and Caribbean folktales with modern flair.

7 Stages and Teo Castellanos D. Projects have a long history of collaboration across geography, having collaborated on many past productions. Mr. Castellanos and Artistic Director Heid S. Howard began conversations about F.Punk Junkies in the pre-COVID times and are thrilled to revive the work collectively by designing a unique process for all to share in method and grow as artists, collaborators, and global community members. By inviting lead members of the original ensemble to create with local artists over a 3-week rehearsal process, the original production will take on a new story. A story that is formed from the dynamic Miami based origins mixed with the power of Atlanta artists, locals are invited to participate in the process. Not only will the Atlanta community see themselves on stage in a new light, but the unique collaboration and production will have a ripple effect of possibility well into the future.
I am so grateful and have been ecstatic in the process of working with 7 Stages and each Atlanta-based artist who has brought their passion, commitment, love and of course their own flavor to this project.
Teo Castellanos – F.PUNK JUNKIES Writer, Director, “Shapeshifter”
I am so thrilled to continue and deepen our relationship with Teo with this innovative and groundbreaking artistry! Our collaborations over the years have included us presenting one or two week residencies with amazing productions like Scratch and Burn and Fat Boy. They were touring productions that came to our stages, but this time we wanted something different, something that truly upheld our mission to share in methods and increase the impact of our work together across geographic boundaries. “I have admired and learned from Teo’s practices over the years, and we remain close colleagues who allow ourselves to check each other in our practices, and have transparent conversations in our advocacy, practices, and process. I believe it is relationships like this that help us grow as humans, artists, and leaders in our field.” By merging our collective Miami and Atlanta communities, we are truly building a future of our worlds to work together, despite all that is currently trying to divide us.
