COMPLIMENTARY EVENT

October 2, 2021 from 1-4PM ET at 7 Stages.

1105 Euclid Ave Atlanta, GA 30307

To kick off this year’s NEA Big Read program, we offer complimentary copies of Joy Harjo’s An American Sunrise during our Service Saturday, as well as live poetry readings, an artist market, complimentary coffee, food and PPE. Join us at 7 Stages Saturday, October 2, 2021 from 1 to 4 PM to share resources, connect with one-another and expand our horizons.

Joy Harjo is the current U.S. Poet Laureate, whose book An American Sunrise is our NEA Big Read selection, inspiring Artistic Responses through May 2022! We not only explore her work in our education programs, but apply what we learn to every facet of our programming. Harjo lends a critical perspective to current and historical events, while shedding light on what Mvskoke (Muscogee/Creek) people – and most indigenous people have, and continue to, endure. As a global center for vital conversation, it is our duty at 7 Stages to honor the original voices of this place we call home and begin to undo centuries of erasure.
